The 2019 Water Festival will take place on Saturday, April 27, on Indiana Avenue in downtown DeLand. Presented by the Volusia Water Alliance in partnership with Stetson’s Institute for Water and Environmental Resilience, the City of DeLand, Blue Spring Alliance and others, the Festival focuses on educating the community about the urgent need to conserve and protect our main source of drinking water. A new feature this year will be the WaterVentures Learning Lab, a traveling science center with exhibits and hands-on activities about the water cycle, aquifers, Florida wetlands, water conservation and more. Just like last year there will be water-themed activities for children and adults, music, dancing, live “mermaids,” a Blessing of the Waters ceremony, educational and environmental organizations, and much more. Cultural Credit will be available.
