Becoming a Multilingual Writing Center: Student Interviews Needed

Writing Tutors Jeanette Jakupca, Aiyanna Maciel and Amber Biron are conducting a research project with an interest in creating programming for the Writing Center. This programming is to help foster a space that is more accessible to international and multilingual students. The tutors are reaching out to see if any students who identify as international or multilingual would be willing to be a part of this research. As a part of conducting this research, the tutors would like feedback from students on creating a more welcoming community in the Writing Center as well as strategies that would best help students during a tutoring session. In addition to being a voice for change at Stetson’s Writing Center, this research will also be presented at the National Conference for Peer Tutoring in Writing this November in Texas.
Two of the tutors would sit down in a private study room in the library with the student for a 15-20 minute audio-recorded interview. Your name and any personal information would be omitted from the final results of these interviews and the audio-recording will be deleted once it is transcribed.
