Stetson’s Student Homeless Coalition (SHC) is raising money to buy much-needed hygiene products and donate them to shelters in our community: The Neighborhood Center of West Volusia and Family Renew Community, Inc. The project “Get Up & Give” directed by Brianna Burrowes (SHC President) and Dr. Rajni Shankar-Brown (SHC Faculty Advisor) is part of the student coalition’s efforts to spread awareness about and help address homelessness in DeLand.
Hygiene is a crucial part of our daily routine. It may be simple for many of us, but there are families and individuals in shelters experiencing a daily struggle when it comes to hygiene and access to basic resources. Moreover, over half of the homeless population nationally and in Florida are women and girls, and many do not have access to products related to feminine hygiene.
Please take a second to donate today – every bit helps.
