The Department of Residential Living and Learning (RLL) is seeking a rising junior, senior or graduate student at Stetson looking to enhance their creativity, organization, training and marketing skills. This unique internship experience will work directly with the residential education team, specifically in the area of Resident Assistant Recruitment. The successful candidate will be challenged to drive the marketing and education of the 2019–2020 Resident Assistant position to the Stetson community.
Reporting to the Associate Director of Residential Education and Community Programs, the Residential Education Intern (REI) is a paraprofessional staff member who works in RLL leading resident assistant recruitment and aspects of the August resident assistant institute. This internship is a fall assignment and is expected to work a minimum of 5 hours per week until the end of the internship experience, with the understanding that some of these hours will fall during the evenings/weekends.
Primary Responsibilities: The REI will oversee aspects of resident assistant institute and recruitment with some duties including:
- Plan, development and facilitate marketing initiatives for Resident Assistant Recruitment 2019-2020
- Manage social media initiatives for Resident Assistant Recruitment from August – December
- Drive resident assistant recruitment marketing and social media initiatives
- Plan and support the facilitation of Resident Assistant Information Sessions and Socials
- Actively participate in biweekly 1:1 meeting with supervisor, providing weekly reports of progress including challenges
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications: You must be enrolled as a full-time degree-seeking graduate or undergraduate student at Stetson. A future interest in higher education/student affairs is a plus. Candidate must demonstrate maturity, professionalism and positive communication skills when working with faculty, campus partners, students and peers. Marketing and design skills desired.
Compensation: The REI will be provided summer early arrival on-campus housing accommodations and paid hourly for a total of $500. Selected candidate will also be provided with an opportunity to receive directed mentorship within the department should they desire.
