Food Recovery Network (Chapter in Progress)
Did you know that about 40 percent of the food we produce for consumption in the United States is wasted, while one in six American families are labeled as food insecure? The Food Recovery Network is trying to combat this problem by diverting completely edible food that would normally end up in a landfill back to hungry folks in our community. Our chapter of the Food Recovery Network at Stetson is in progress, and we are working with Stetson Dining as well as local businesses in order to recover food for those who are struggling with hunger. We are super excited about this project, but we need your help! We are looking for anyone interested in helping with this project. There are leadership positions available, as well as volunteer hours for participating!!
