Having A Healthy Homecoming!
Show your Hatter pride for Homecoming this week by being a healthy Hatter! As we prepare for an exciting homecoming game on Saturday, Nov. 5, the Department of Wellness and Recreation would like to share some tips to have a healthy Homecoming Game Day!
- Step 1: Designate a sober driver. The driver should be the person who has not consumed any alcohol or other drugs. When in doubt call an uber or a taxi.
- Step 2: Pace yourself to one drink per hour and keep track of your blood alcohol concentration. Limit yourself to four drinks on one occasion.
- Step 3: Eat before and during drinking and rotate alcoholic drinks with non-alcoholic drinks. Water is a great option to keep you hydrated!
- Step 4: Have fun and show your Hatter pride!
Stetson’s WELL Team will be traveling around campus this week distributing cards specific to an individual’s biological sex and weight to help monitor their Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC). Either catch them walking around campus or visit the Healthy Hatters Track Their BAC Table on Thursday, Nov. 3, between 12 – 3 p.m. outside of the CUB. The WELL Team will be distributing drink koozies with the BAC Cards this week. On Saturday, look for The WELL Team to be set up inside of the stadium next to the beer stand for your opportunity to receive a FREE Nalgene water bottle. Bring your BAC Card to the game and show us you know how to use it to be eligible for a water bottle!
Wellness & Recreation and Stetson’s WELL Team would like to wish you a safe and healthy Homecoming 2016 Week! For questions or more information, please contact Melissa Mesman, Assistant Director of Wellness and Recreation at firstname.lastname@example.org or 386-822-7033.
