Founders Day Celebration and Rock Swap at the Gillespie Museum
Visit the Gillespie Museum on Saturday, Nov. 5, for a Homecoming open house and rock swap — a celebration of the museum’s founding.
In November of 1958, Thomas Byrd and Nellie Gillespie bequeathed to the University a significant mineral collection of 15,000 specimens, which has played a key role in Earth science education, environmental studies, and sustainable practices on the DeLand campus for over a half century.
Drop in any time between 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. to browse the museum and swap some rocks and minerals. The Gillespie is located at 234 E. Michigan Ave. For more information: email@example.com or 386.822.7330.
