Hand Art Center Walk Through June 23
Stetson University’s Department of Creative Arts is hosting American Painting and the Florida School of Art: A Walk Through the Gallery with Gary R. Libby, guest curator of the exhibition, Thurs., June 23, 6-7 p.m., at the Hand Art Center. During this special event, Libby will give a guided tour of the works in the exhibit and share essential information about the Florida School of Art. The public is invited and encouraged to ask questions while discovering the history of these fantastic works.
“American Painting and the Florida School of Art – Selections from Private Collections,” contains 40 works dating from approximately 1825 to 1925, including pieces by renowned landscape artist George Inness, Ash Can School realist painter Robert Henri, Highwaymen painter Harold Newton and others. The exhibition continues through Sat., July 2.
