The following is an important announcement from Executive Vice President and Provost Beth Paul, Ph.D.:
I am pleased to announce that Neal P. Mero, Ph.D., Professor of Management and Founding Director of the Kennesaw D.B.A. Program at Kennesaw State University, has been named Dean of the School of Business Administration, starting Nov. 30. Dr. Mero will focus on advancing excellence and defining distinction in our business programs.
Mero has extensive administrative and leadership experience in higher education, business, and the military. He has served as the founding director of the Kennesaw D.B.A. Program since 2008. Before that he was Vice President and Chief Advocacy Officer for three years of AACSB International, the premier professional accreditor for business education, providing leadership for AACSB’s global communication, membership services, and business development staff, as well as support for the AACSB’s accreditation, thought leadership, and other global initiatives. He previously taught Management, primarily in the fields of organizational behavior and human resources management, at the University of Central Florida, the University of Mississippi, Washington State University and the United States Air Force Academy.
His business experience includes extensive consulting services in various industries with special emphasis on the healthcare industry. His broad range of services includes development and validation of employee selection and evaluation programs, assessment of employee attitudes, team building for executive and middle management, and successful performance evaluation. In the military, he served as the Director of Human Resources and Faculty Supervisor for the United States Air Force Academy, Systems Development Program Manager at Norton Air Force Base in California, and Director of Training for the United States Air Force in Great Falls, MT.
Mero earned a Doctorate of Philosophy in Business Administration, concentrating in Organizational Behavior, from the University of Florida. He received his Master of Business Administration from the University of Montana and completed his undergraduate studies in business and management at the University of Maryland.
I extend my sincere appreciation to Assistant Professor of Marketing Dr. Deborah Goldring, and Associate Vice President Dr. John Pearson, for co-chairing the search for our new dean. I also thank the full search committee and all in the community who engaged proactively in this important search.
