Labor Day Weekend = Opportunity for Conservation
As part of Stetson University’s commitment to the value of Environmental Stewardship, we are always looking for ways to reduce our impact on the environment and to natural resources.
The extended holiday weekend provides the campus community with an opportunity for additional energy and water conservation, and we encourage everyone to help us avoid unnecessary consumption. Please consider doing the following before leaving on Friday:
- Adjust thermostats to off or at least a warmer temperature (Guidelines call for an unoccupied setting of 82 degrees).
- Power down electronics, and even unplug what you can (Many electronics still consume electricity even when their power is off).
- Make sure all lights are turned off (Check that closet one last time).
- Report water leaks, running toilets or dripping faucets (Could add up to thousands of wasted gallons by Tuesday).
