Air Potato Round-up! Service hrs available!

Help stop an invasive species that is rapidly spreading through Chuck Lennon County Park!

Air potato (Dioscorea bulbifera) is native to Asia and was released in Florida in 1905.  Since this time it has been choking native plant species, disrupting the natural environment, and being a nuisance.

The Volusia County Environmental Management office is conducting an extensive removal project this Saturday, Nov. 16 from 8 – 10:30 a.m. at Chuck Lennon County Park.

Volunteers are needed to help remove the air potatoes.  Stetson Environmental Club is organizing a group to leave from Stetson to go to Check Lennon park for the project.  Please email Logan Dodson (ldodson@stetson.edu) to sign up for the event.  Transportation is available if you need it.

Free service hours are available!  Please sign up today!
