Julian retiring from Stetson University in 2014
Carol Julian, Stetson University vice president for University Relations, has announced her plans to retire effective June 30, 2014. Julian has been with Stetson since September 2011, having been recruited to the university to reorganize the fund raising program. This involved an analysis of university needs related to Stewardship, Development Operations, Alumni Engagement, Gift Planning and Annual Fund.
In the process, Julian moved the university into a “campaign-ready” position. She was instrumental in choosing and working with campaign counsel. In doing so she worked with the Campaign Planning Committee composed of members of the Board of Trustees, President’s Cabinet and others in the Stetson community to define Stetson’s short- and long-term needs. Julian helped the Committee conclude its work in May 2012, several months ahead of schedule.
In 2012, under Julian’s leadership, Stetson raised nearly $35 million.
“Carol came to Stetson at a pivotal time in our history and laid the groundwork for our ongoing success,” said Wendy B. Libby, President of Stetson. “Carol and her husband, Frank, have been quick and hearty supporters of Stetson. I am very pleased they will stay here in DeLand and continue as part of our university community.”
Lucy Leske, managing partner and director of Witt/Kieffer, has been retained as a search consultant. A national search for Julian’s replacement will begin in early November.
