Why I Chose Stetson:

I chose Stetson on a whim, I had never visited or taken a tour or anything. However, I had one conversation with a professor whom I had never met before. He told me all about Stetson and it was all I needed to know that Stetson was for me! That professor has now become my go-to person for all things advice. Hatters make Stetson a home!

Involvements on Campus:

Model Senate - Student Director, Student Ambassadors, FOCUS Orientation, Omicron Delta Kappa, Phi Alpha Delta, Psi Chi, Environmental Club

What I Like to Do on Weekends:

On my weekends, I love heading down I-4 to Disney World to meet up with family or go with friends! We love hanging out at Disney Springs and seeing all the sights. I also love the farmers market that happens every Friday evening in downtown DeLand! So many local businesses to peruse!

My Favorite Class at Stetson:

My favorite class that I’ve ever taken at Stetson would be Dr. Eskenazi’s Memory in Everyday Life course. It made me wonder if my memories were ever real to begin with! The class style was discussion-based and I felt like I was a part of a big collaboration throughout the semester. We performed a semester-long experiment in which we tested to see if we could improve our short-term memory digit span and we actually did! This class taught me so much that I carry with me today.

Advice to Prospective Students:

A piece of advice that I can offer is to join the clubs or organizations that you would never think to join because this is where you can find some of your best friends. When first coming to Stetson, I was completely out of my element but after joining a bunch of organizations and clubs, I found my people and encouraged them to do the same! Everyone is in the same boat, being somewhere new, so never feel excluded because of it.

Favorite Place on Campus:

My favorite place on campus has to be the quiet study area on the bottom floor of the DuPont-Ball Library. This is a hidden treasure of Stetson that many don’t realize is there! The floor has numerous individual study pods, bean bags, and charging ports everywhere. People are always respectfully quiet and it’s the best place when you need to get a lot of work done.
