New Staff at Stetson University
Each year as the academic semester is about to begin we welcome all new staff members who have joined the university since August of the previous year. If you haven't met our new staff members, please take this opportunity to say hello and welcome them to Stetson. From our new archivist, Kelly Larson, to our Public Safety officers, all of our new staff members have similar goals, to support a safe learning environment where students and faculty can excel.
Below are just a few of our most recent colleagues, followed by a complete list of staff members who have joined the university since August 2017.
Collecting, Arranging and Preserving
After just a few weeks on the job, Kelly Larson, Stetson University archivist at the duPont-Ball Library, has had a request that helped her discover the extensive connection the university has had with its namesake, John B. Stetson and his family. Larson is the university's first formally trained archivist and she is responsible for managing the extensive archives and special collections.
Helping First-Generation College Students
As an undergraduate, Stetson University's director of Diversity and Inclusion, Joanne Harris-Duff, remembers the feeling of being overwhelmed as she stepped onto campus. Duff, who started with Stetson University in May, plans to expand programs to support Stetson's first-gen students.
New Hillel Director Selected
In April of this year Stetson University announced the selection of Sam Friedman as Hillel director. Sam is a nationally recognized leader at Hillel International and has helped to grow Hillel progams in Central Florida.
