Inspirare Treble Chorus

Inspirare is a community women's chorus that comes together every summer to make beautiful music. All music-loving women, age 18 and up, are welcome to join us for our Monday evening rehearsals. Under the direction of veteran choir director and renowned music educator Dr. Ann Small, the Inspirare women will prepare repertoire that is beautiful, challenging, and fun to sing for their concert in August. We hope you'll join us for fellowship, fun, and some sweet summer singing!

Meet your director!

Ann Roberts Small, Ph.D., is Professor Emeritus of Music Education at Stetson University. Having coordinated the music education program at Stetson University for 31 years she retired in the spring of 2014. While at Stetson Dr. Small founded and conducted the Stetson University Children’s Choir, later known as the Young Singers, who performed nationally at conventions of Music Educators National Convention and American Choral Directors Association. Her choir served as Artists in Residence at Choral Music Experience Institutes in St. Andrews, Scotland, and Toronto, Ontario. In 1999, the Children's Choir was one of two choirs chosen to represent the U.S. at Festival 500, the celebration of the discovery of Newfoundland by John Cabot. In 2012, Dr. Small founded Inspirare, a community women’s choir under Stetson’s Community School of Music. They have performed on campus and at a state convention of Florida ACDA. In November of 2013, the Florida chapter of ACDA awarded the R. Wayne Hugoboom Award, the highest award for choral conducting in the state, to Dr. Ann Small.

This summer program concludes with a concert in Lee Chapel, Elizabeth Hall.
