Emily Plakon

Emily Plakon is a third-year student and an articles and symposia editor. She also serves as the chair of the alumni relations committee. She is from Lake Mary, Florida and graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Political Science. Prior to law school, Plakon worked as a bartender and law firm receptionist. She is currently a Teaching Assistant for Research and Writing II. She enjoys playing Fortnite, motocross, and reading.

Grant Preston is a second-year student and an articles and symposia editor. He is from Tampa, Florida and graduated from University of Florida with a B.A. in Political Science. He is currently Vice President of the Second Amendment Society. Outside of law school, he enjoys hiking and reading.

Grace Kobitter is a third-year student and a notes and comments editor. She is from Clearwater, Florida and graduated from Transylvania University in Lexington, Kentucky with a B.A. in Psychology. Prior to law school, Kobitter worked at a law firm in downtown Lexington and interned for Kentucky’s Sixth District Congressman. She is currently a member of the Dispute Resolution Board, the Vice President of the Student Bar Association, a Senior Stetson Ambassador, and a BARBRI Representative. Outside of law school, she enjoys being at the beach, going to concerts, and visiting Kentucky during horse racing season.

Eric Lyerly is a third-year student and a Notes and Comments Editor. He is from Birmingham, Alabama and graduated from The University of Alabama with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science. Prior to law school, Lyerly worked for the North Carolina State Bar. He currently works at Stetson’s Center for Excellence in Higher Education Law and Policy, and he is the President of the Education Law Association. Outside of law school, he enjoys fishing, archery, playing with his English Bulldog, and spending time with his wife and two young children.

Peyton Marshall is a third-year student and a notes and comments editor. She is from Perry, Georgia and graduated from Rhodes College with a B.S. in Physics and a minor in Religious Studies. At Rhodes College, Peyton worked as a research assistant in the area of medical physics. She is currently a research assistant to Professor Anne Mullins, a member of FAWLS at Stetson, and a member of the Intellectual Property Society. Outside of law school, she enjoys reading, collecting books, and cooking.

Clare McQueen is a third-year student and a notes and comments editor. She is from St. Petersburg, Florida and graduated from the University of Florida with a B.A. in the History of Art and a minor in Business Administration. Prior to law school, McQueen interned at Christie’s art auction house in New York for the summer. She is currently a member of the Dispute Resolution Board and a committee member of the Student Leadership Development Committee. Outside of law school, she enjoys art, yoga, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.

Pedro Aranguez-Diaz

Pedro Aranguez Diaz is a second-year student and current assistant managing editor. He is from Granada, Spain and graduated from University of Granada with a law degree. He is pursuing the International Dual Degree in Law, commonly known as the “JD/Grado” program where he will have a law degree both in Europe and the U.S. upon completion. Prior to law school, Aranguez Diaz worked as a translator and interpreter for the criminal law firm, Aranguez Abogados, founded by his family. Outside of law school, he enjoys traveling, reading, watching films, and spending time with friends.

Brittany Kovalskaya is a second-year student and current assistant managing editor. She is from Palm Coast, Florida and graduated from Stetson University with a B.A. in Political Science and a B.A. in Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies. Prior to law school, Kovalskaya had a translating job for the Russian Bolshoi Ballet Theatre. Outside of law school, she enjoys going to the movies, playing tennis, cooking, traveling, playing video games, belly dancing, and adding to her collection of eighteen hand fans from countries around the world.

Peyton Brown is a second-year student and the assistant research editor. She is from Juno Beach, Florida and graduated from University of Florida with a B.A. in Business Administration. Prior to law school, Brown was a marketing intern at Gunster. She is currently an Ambassador at Stetson. Outside of law school, she enjoys boating and playing with her dogs.
