Important Reminder: Stetson Law requires our students to perform a total of sixty (60) hours of pro bono service during their law school career, of which thirty (30) hours must be the performance of qualifying law-related service (legal pro bono). Full-time students and part-time students must complete all pro bono requirements before the start of their last semester of law school!

In Celebration of LAW DAY 2016, The St. Pete Bar seeks FOUR Volunteers for “ASK A LAWYER” DAY SATURDAY, MAY 7, 2016, to be held in Downtown St. Pete from 10am – 1pm. Heading to the Miami area this summer?? Dade Legal Aid needs you! Dade Legal Aid is a non-profit law firm that provides a critical safety net of civil legal assistance to vulnerable populations including children, teens, victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, women, the elderly, the disabled and families living in poverty with nowhere else to turn for legal services. To offer your assistance this summer, submit a copy of your resume and very specific days/times of availability to Bruce Levine – Blevine@dadelegalaid.com.
Bay Area Legal Services is re-instituting their Family Forms Clinic and is conducting an on-campus hour long training with interested students. Bay Area is now offering forms assistance to clients (via volunteer attorneys and law students) who are in need of assistance with a family law matter (i.e. Dissolution of Marriage, Supplemental Petition to Modify, Paternity, Name Change) in North Pinellas and West Pasco Counties. The clinic will take place at our office (800 Drew Street, Clearwater, FL) in downtown Clearwater on April 15, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. To volunteer for the clinic, you must attend a training session. The first and most convenient session will be on campus on Friday, 4/8/2016, from 12:00 – 1:30pm, in SC-201. You can earn non-legal pro bono credit for attending this training session. A local law library in Charlotte County, Florida is in need of assistance to restock, inventory, and order new books. The start date can be flexible! This is a one-time annual project that would likely only take a few days but can be probably be completed largely online from home (at least choosing and ordering new books). Sanderlin Elementary welcomes volunteers interested in lending a helping hand with their 7th Annual Tortuga Trot 5K Walk/Run to benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Fund. The Event is on 4/9/2016.
