The Blackboard Ultra Experience – Student UPDATE

Information Technology and the Office of Online Learning and Educational Technology (OOLET) are pleased to announce the Blackboard Ultra Experience will be implemented on December 22, 2016.  The Ultra Experience is an upgrade to our existing Blackboard learning management system and “Ultra” is used to describe the transformation of the user interface and workflows in Blackboard Learn.

PLEASE NOTE: Access to Blackboard will be unavailable starting December 21st at 7:00 a.m. The process will take approximately 32 hours, and is planned to be completed December 22nd at 3:00 p.m.  During this time, there will be no access to Blackboard, so please plan your end-of-term activities accordingly!

The Ultra Experience brings important benefits to instructors and students, such as a more intuitive user interface.  It also includes streamlined workflows, a personalized user experience that brings aggregated and actionable information to a user’s view, and a mobile-first design.  While the Ultra interface, also known as the Blackboard Home Page, has been completely redesigned, the actual courses delivery functionality is almost unchanged.

You can always stop by the Office of Online Learning and Educational Technology (OOLET) for drop-in help any time during regular business hours (Mon-Fri, 9-4). The OOLET Team is happy to help with Ultra questions as well as any Blackboard or online learning needs!

OOLET team members Benjamin Brown and Dawn McCain are located at the Deland campus, in the lower level of the Lynn Business Center in Rooms 030 and 032. Look for the big sign in the hallway!

Julie Kitzmiller, our OOLET team member located at the College of Law, is also available for drop-in help during normal business hours. Julie’s office is in the Library, Room 142, at the Gulfport campus.
