Stetson University public statement regarding recent decisions by the U.S. Department of Education regarding Title IX Guidance

On Sept. 22, 2017, U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos announced new interim guidance on Campus Sexual Misconduct. The department has sent out a newly released Q&A on Campus Sexual Misconduct and has rescinded guidance from both the 2011 and 2014 Dear Colleague Letters and the 2014 Q&A on Title IX Sexual Violence. The Stetson Title IX leadership and University leadership will be reviewing the new guidance and Q&A, and may propose changes at a later date. The current policies and procedures are fair and unbiased, reflect industry best practices, and have been reviewed by legal counsel. To read the press release and review the new Q&A, please go to
