RSVP for Foreman Biodiversity Lecture on 10/9/17 – Dr. Dwight T. Pitcaithley – History of the National Park Service

Join us for an Edward and Bonnie Foreman Biodiversity Lecture on Monday, October 9, 2017, at noon in the Great Hall. Dr. Dwight T. Pitcaithley will present “The National Park Service After 100 Years: A Historian Reflects.”

Dr. Pitcaithley’s presentation will discuss the past 100 years of National Park Service (NPS) history and explore the challenges and opportunities facing it today. He is the former Chief Historian (retired) of the NPS, where he worked for 30 years. Dr. Pitcaithley received the Robert Kelley Memorial Award from the National Council on Public History and the Distinguished Service Award from the Organization of American Historians.
