PAID Public Interest Work in Illinois – PILI Internships and Fellowships
PILI’s Law Student Internship Program connects law students from across the country with public interest law agencies in Illinois and pays them for their work. Typically, Interns receive $6,000 for working 400 hours during the summer and $3,000 for working 200 hours over a semester. Interns can also receive law school credit for their Internship if first approved by both the student’s law school and agency.
Application period and process:
- 2LS: The application period opened for second-year law students at 10:00 a.m. on October 15th. The deadline is rolling, so there’s still time to apply, if interested!
- 1Ls: The application period will open for first-year law students at 10:00 a.m. on December 1st.
PILI’s Graduate Fellowship Program places new associates from Chicago law firms at public interest law agencies in Illinois, where they are typically paid by their hiring firm to work for 300 hours between graduation and joining the firm
