Veterans Law Institute (1Ls and 2Ls for Summer Law Clerk positions in its office(s) in Gulfport, FL).  The employer has provided the following information:
Spend this summer gaining legal experience and serving veterans. The Veterans Law Institute seeks students to assist veterans who are seeking disability benefits from the Department of Veterans Affairs. In this position you will be assisting with Veteran cases under the supervision of Professor Simcox and the VLI Staff Attorney.  You duties will involve legal research, writing, and possible in-person/telephonic hearings. You will learn about administrative law, disability law, health law, advocacy, federal work, and generally gain a wealth of substantive knowledge regarding veterans benefits law under the supervision of the VLI Faculty and Staff Attorney.  Selected applicants can expect to have a valuable experience focused on developing valuable relationships, clients, writing, and advocacy.  Additionally, selected applicants will be eligible to apply for prestigious Equal Justice Works scholarship grants for their work over the summer and will receive pro Bono hours as well.  EJW applications are due April 14 so apply today.
