Last Chance to RSVP for Foreman Biodiversity Lecture on Oct. 23 – Improving Sea Turtle Nesting Beaches
RSVP by Friday for the next Edward and Bonnie Foreman Biodiversity Lecture on Monday, October 23 at noon in the Great Hall. Tonya Long, a fish and wildlife biologist with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, will present “The Dark Side: Improving Sea Turtle Nesting Beaches Through Comprehensive Light Management.”
The lecture will examine the relationship between sea turtles and lighting, and the ways in which federal, state, and local agencies are implementing management strategies to reduce the impact of artificial lighting on nesting and hatchling sea turtles.
