William Reece Smith Jr. Pro Bono Showcase

On Tuesday, October 11, from 5:00-6:00 p.m., we will be hosting the William Reece Smith Jr. Pro Bono Showcase. This event will take place in the Mann Lounge.  We know that many of our students have engaged in rewarding and importantlegal pro bono work at Stetson and we would love for you to consider sharing your experiences with other students at this Pro Bono Showcase event.

To have your legal pro bono work showcased, you will need to prepare a description of no more than 500 words that highlights the significance of your work and an explanation as to why you believe you have made a difference in the community you were serving.  A reference from your supervising attorney should also be included. The focus of this showcase is on the quality of the pro bono work, not just the number of hours you completed.

The entries will be reviewed by a panel of Social Justice Advocacy professors and practitioners. This panel will then select no more than 5 student finalists who will discuss their work at the Pro Bono Showcase.  One of the finalists will receive a reserved spot in the faculty parking lot for the 2022-2023 school year.  Students and their pro bono work will also be featured in a story on the Stetson Law website. To be considered as a featured student in this showcase, you must submit all information to [email protected] by September 9th at 5 pm.  We really hope that you will consider participating.

If you have questions, please do not hesitate to email Professor Kristen Adams at [email protected] or Professor Scully at [email protected]

Peace & Blessings, Professors Adams and Scully
