Stetson Intramural Softball Guidelines Fall 2021

*These guidelines are in accordance with Stetson’s Guidelines and Recommendations based on its status as a Tier 2.5 school*

While at the field—an outdoor venue—the following procedures will be adhered to at all times:

1)    Students are free to choose whether they wear facial coverings.

  1. This includes when a student is in the dugout.

2)    Shared softball bats will be sanitized after each half inning.

  1. Often, both teams share equipment. Wiping down the equipment after each team uses them during their half-inning or game will help prevent the spread of any infectious diseases.
  2. While not required as part of Stetson’s Tier 4 plan, this measure is being taken out of an abundance of caution for the safety and well-being for Stetson students.

3)    Shared softball gloves will be sanitized after each game.

  1. See 2(b).

4)    The group size for registered softball events will be capped at 150 people maximum. All of the students in attendance must physically distance at least 3 feet apart.

5)    Team captains will be responsible for sanitizing their team’s dugout at the conclusion of each game.

6)    All students must certify that they have read these rules before being allowed to compete in this intramural sport.

  1. Normally, each team captain would be responsible for ensuring their team understood the rules. Because of these unique circumstances, it is imperative to the health and safety of Stetson students that each participant understands these rules in their entirety.

7)    Students must agree to follow these new guidelines if they wish to participate in Stetson Intramural Softball.

8)   Students who do not follow these new guidelines will be asked to leave the field immediately.
