Congratulations to the Dispute Resolution Board!

It has been an exciting two weeks for the Dispute Resolution Board, which won two competitions over the Nov. 11-12 weekend and took a finalist slot in a third competition over the November 4-5 weekend.

First, for the second year in a row, Stetson has won the William & Mary Law School Negotiation Tournament and also won the Best Advocate Award. Brooks Robinson and Alicia Winterkorn won, and Cymoril White won the Best Advocate Award. Brooks, Alicia, and Cymoril were all representing Stetson for the very first time at this competition. Congratulations, Brooks, Alicia, Cymoril, teammates Felicia Becker, Haviland Kebler, and Taofikat Ninalowo, and coaches Professor Sheehan and Stetson Law alumnus Bill Greiner J.D. ’07!

Second, Dispute Resolution Board veterans Caroline Garrity, Olivia Mejido, and Meghan Sullivan, along with Max Brown, who was competing in his first-ever competition as a Dispute Resolution Board member, won the regional rounds of the ABA Law Student Division Arbitration Regional Competition hosted by Michigan State University College of Law at Dickinson Wright PLLC’s office in downtown Detroit. Caroline, Max, Olivia, and Meghan will be heading to the national competition in Chicago in January. Stetson is advancing to the national rounds of this competition for the second year in a row. In addition, Dispute Resolution Board veterans Julia Alley and Martin Musichi, together with rookie DR members Mark Joseph and Jade Mattheys, advanced to the semifinal rounds. Congratulations to the team, and congratulations to Professors Feeley and Flowers, who coached the team! A special thanks to Professor Erika McArdle, who traveled with the team this weekend.

And last, but not least, over the November 4-5 weekend, Dispute Resolution Board members Allison Belanger and Christina Huckfeldt were finalists at the ABA Law School Division Regional Negotiation Competition hosted by St. John’s University School of Law in Jamaica, New York. Allie and Christina are not only veteran DR Board members, but a well-established dynamic duo, having won the William and Mary tournament together last year. Congratulations, Allie, Christina, teammates Sy-Woei Hao and Kira Ramirez, coach Professor Sheehan, and student coach Mary Wold, also a member of the DR Board.
