Cape Town, South Africa Applications Open!

Stetson has added a new summer study abroad program in Cape Town, South Africa starting in Summer 2018!  The program’s theme is International Human Rights and includes the following 1-credit courses (for a total of 4 credits):

Week 1: South Africa: From Apartheid to Democracy, Professor Sarah Gerwig-Moore, Mercer

Week 2: Health Law Issues and Human Rights in Africa, Professor Florence Shu-Acquaye, Nova

Week 3: Nelson Mandela and International Human Rights, Professor Ellen Podgor, Stetson

Week 4: Climate Justice: U.S. and International Dimensions, Professor Randall Abate, FAMU

The program runs from July 5 – August 3, 2018 and includes trips to Robben Island (where Nelson Mandela was imprisoned), a safari, visits to local law clinics, and District Six Museum.

Join us for an info session on Thursday, October 5th in the F&R Courtroom from 12:05 – 12:50 pm to learn more about the program and how to apply.

Scholarships are also available to Stetson students for this program.

Applications are open now! The application deadline for the program as well as the scholarship is March 15, 2018.
