The Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), through its nine articles, governs virtually every phase of a transaction in goods, as well as payment systems used in these transactions and in commerce generally. Multiple areas of law practice are implicated including: business and corporate law, banking and finance, bankruptcy, insurance, sales and leasing, commercial transactions, construction law, and more.
An attorney with a working knowledge of the UCC, its various articles and their effects across multiple phases of business has a tremendous advantage, whether practicing in litigation, transactional, or focusing in ongoing commerce.

1:00 - 2:15 p.m., Article 9: Secured Transactions (75 mins)
2:15 - 3:00 p.m., Article 3: Negotiable Instruments (45 mins) followed by 20 minute break
3:20 - 4:00 p.m., Article 4: Bank Deposits and Collections (40 mins)
4:00 - 4:20 p.m., Article 5: Letters of Credit (20 mins)
4:20 - 4:45 p.m., Article 4A: Funds Transfers (25 mins)
4:45 - 5:00 p.m., General Review & Final Thoughts (15 mins)
Speaker Robert LeVine, a 1975 graduate of the University of Chicago School of Law, is a national legal consultant, continuing legal education and motivational speaker, former law professor at both Miami and Stetson, and author of The Uniform Commercial Code Made Easy. The UCC Made Easy is an internationally recognized book that uniquely teaches the intricacies and interrelations of the articles of the UCC through a short story/novel approach. LeVine has presented to state bar associations all over the country including Illinois, Minnesota, Missouri, Oregon, Oklahoma, Ohio, North Carolina and others.
