CLE - Money Damages: Getting to the Jury’s Sweet Spot

In this three-hour CLE, learn more about persuading a jury to want to do right by your client, and about preparing for damage questions on the verdict form for both plaintiff and defense.
The following areas will be covered during the CLE course:
- Evaluating a potential claim
- Points for discovery
- Methods of proof
- At trial, questions for direct and cross
- From the transition after the liability portion of the closing to making persuasive arguments that are most likely to get the jury to want to do right by your client
CLE application will be made to the Florida Bar for 3.5 General CLE credits.

About Professor Coppock
Lee A. Coppock retired from a full-time position as the trial advocacy fellow for Stetson University College of Law in May 2014. For the previous nine years, he was responsible for Stetson's nationally-recognized trial team. Professor Coppock graduated from the University of South Florida with honors in 1994 and from Stetson with a J.D. in 1996 also with honors. After being admitted to Florida's Bar, he practiced in Orlando at the firm of Fisher, Rushmer, et. al., and then at Paul and Coppock P.A., before returning as a visiting professor to Stetson Law in August 2004. As a student member of Stetson's trial team, he was recognized as the "Best Advocate" in both state and national competitions and was a national champion at the Association of American Trial Lawyers competition in 1996. In the fall of 2015, Professor Coppock returned as a full-time visiting professor teaching Professional Responsibility, Trial Advocacy and classes in Advanced Civil Trial Skills covering both voir dire and damages.
