Whether you aspire to lead a team or are an experienced leader, leading virtual teams presents its own unique set of challenges and opportunities. In this highly engaging workshop, you will not only have the opportunity to interact directly with two industry-recognized executives, but you’ll also be able to apply learnings real-time in a safe practice environment. From getting yourself set up to successfully work remotely and understanding virtual tools, to applying social intelligence in virtual team settings, you’ll leave this course feeling empowered with the skills and tools you’ll need in order to cultivate a virtual work environment where everyone can thrive.

How Is It Delivered?
This is a week-long virtual workshop consisting of three 2 1⁄2 hour live virtual learning sessions and two self-learning days. Live virtual sessions will be held using Zoom on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, from
4-6:30pm ET with Tuesday and Thursday functioning as self- learning days in preparation for live sessions.
The Digital You® Guide to Leading Virtual Teams - An Interactive Workshop for Leaders is divided into three progressive modules with distinct outcomes:
Module 1: Lead by Example - Getting Yourself Set Up to Successfully Work Remotely
- Learn best practices for working remotely including: time management and work-life balance insights, navigating popular collaboration tools such as Zoom, Microsoft Teams and Google Meet, and putting your best foot forward on video leveraging lighting, background, attire, branding, etc.
Module 2: Leading Virtual Meetings - Best Practices
- Walk away better prepared to adapt, respond, and bounce back when presented with the behavioral and technical challenges of hosting a virtual meeting
- Gain insights on setting expectations and developing meeting governance including templates
- Gain insights on when to use email vs. audio-only vs. video
- Learn to apply empathy, tone, pace, active listening, self-presentation and other skills tied to social intelligence in order to: Better understand overall team dynamics and individual team members regardless of distance or virtual channel, build virtual trust, 'read' a virtual room, and walk away with creative ideas for virtual team building

Yamila H. Harris
Yamila is a dynamic global leader, public speaker, and mentor with nearly 30 years of experience across multiple Information Technology and Business disciplines.
She has spent much of her career leading highly diverse and globally dispersed teams and driving innovation at both startup and Fortune 100 companies alike. Presently, Yamila is Vice President of Service Delivery at Atos – a globally recognized and trusted IT Services partner specializing in digital transformation journeys, innovation, and value creation for their clients. She also serves as the Co-Chair of the HITEC advisory board - a global, non-profit executive IT leadership organization focused on providing a forum for the career development, advancement, mentorship, and sponsorship of technology executives.
Yamila is very passionate about leading technology transformations, developing a culture of innovation, and cultivating and empowering diverse teams. Her leadership, innovation, and philanthropic efforts have earned her numerous accolades throughout the course of her career, including recently being named a 2020 Great Minds in STEM Luminary Award recipient and the 2020 recipient of the Ted Surynt Leadership Award from the Stetson University Business School Foundation. She is also a multi-year HITEC 100 award recipient.
