What positions would you be good at? What work fulfills you? And what skills do you need to get there? This course will address all these questions and more while also developing tools and techniques to make your next career step a success.

Who Is It For?

Navigating Your Career is for anyone looking to pivot and pursue a new career path. The course will help you to assess your strengths and experiences to identify new career paths that take advantage of what you’re good at.

How is it Delivered?

A course outline will be delivered to all students on Monday, July 27. The first live-online session will take place on Tuesday, July 28, beginning at 6 p.m.

Each live-online session will be recorded to provide you with flexible access to course content should you be unable to attend.

Learning Outcomes

Jobs are changing rapidly, and the resume that may have gotten you your first job may be overlooked several years later. Employers are looking for more than just competencies. In Navigating Your Career, you'll learn the best practices and the best conversations to have with yourself and prospective employers to help land your next great opportunity.

  • Identify the six stages of the job-seeking process
  • Explain the important role of exploring and researching in the job-seeking process
  • Develop a customized resume and cover letter
  • Discuss examples of how to interview and negotiate successfully
  • Apply the KEYS approach to conduct yourself with professional excellence throughout the job-seeking process

Resume, cover letter and interviewing resources will be provided. A one-hour, one-on-one individual consultation is available for those who want it.

Meet the Instructor

Meg Young

Megan Young is an instructor in the School of Business Administration at Stetson University, where she has taught undergraduate courses since 2017. Megan is a Florida State certified teacher and a Stetson alumna. Her professional background includes secondary education and administration, higher education administration, training and development, entrepreneurship and management.
