In spring 2014 Dr. Green's junior seminar, Economic Development and Human Progress, undertook a class project to measure living standards at Stetson University and in the DeLand community. Students designed a survey that measured education, feelings of safety, overall health, locus of control, living situations, voting eligibility, job satisfaction, life expectancy, prayer/meditation and happiness. They then took to the streets of DeLand and gave the survey to 162 local residents along with 103 Stetson University students. The class worked together to create a full report on progress and happiness locally, which can be found online.
