Student Employment opportunity: Graphic Designer needed for the Hand Art Center!

SUMMER JOB: HAND ART CENTER
Graphic Designer
Mid-May through August with potential for Fall 2018

Job Description: To maintain and expand an already created website that is a WordPress-based site. Ideally, you’re a designer who has the experience and skills that match our multi-disciplinary practice and understand both print and web. You’ll be working on various projects, such as digital and print materials for events, website content management and social media implementation. Familiarity and experience in front-end development are highly welcomed.

Duties may include: 

-Create, manage and post content

-Engage with our audience and target market on social media platforms

-Creation and implementation of email marketing campaigns (MyEmma)

-Measure and report performance of all past digital marketing campaigns, and design marketing schemes accordingly

-Assist with day-to-day aspects in the Hand Art Center (opening/closing procedures, guest care, art installations, clerical projects, etc.)

Qualifications

We require 20+ hours per week between 10:45 a.m.-4 p.m. and two regular recurring Saturdays per month on a regular recurring basis from 11:45 a.m.-4 p.m.

We are looking for someone with: 

–Proficiency in Adobe, InDesign, Publisher, Google and Microsoft programs

-An ability to work independently as well as part of a team

-An understanding of the basic principles of social media marketing and who knows how to post to Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest.

-Writing and communication skills

-A great attitude and work ethic

-The traits of being outgoing, articulate and personable

-A fearless attitude towards technology and a willingness to learn

-Good communication and interpersonal skills

-A professional approach on social media

Requirements:

  • Must have strong skills in Adobe Suite (Illustrator/InDesign/Photoshop).
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and calmly under deadline are necessary qualities.
  • Has the ability to multi-task and be relatively self-directed and maintain a professional work style.
