The Stetson Community is invited to a vigil Wednesday, Feb. 28, at 9 p.m. to remember the 17 lives lost in the Parkland, Florida, shooting.
Stetson first-year student Aviva Edrich organized the vigil because she attended Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School and knew many of the victims in the Feb. 14 shooting.
Stetson’s three chaplains also will attend the vigil, as well as counselors. The names of the 17 victims will be read aloud as candles are lit and a bell is rung for each one.
The vigil begins at 9 p.m. on the stairs of the Carlton Union Building, where a banner now hangs with the names of the 17 victims. Read more about the vigil on Stetson Today.
