Human Library Event – Feb. 23

The Multicultural Student Council invites you to attend the 2nd annual Human Library on Feb. 23 from 1-4 p.m.!

The Human Library is a platform for dialogue where it is okay to speak about experiences, identity and ideas. This is a time and place to bridge gaps of miscommunication and where it is okay to ask difficult questions, because they are expected and appreciated.

The Library consists of Human “books” who volunteer to tell stories about themselves to a variety of “readers.” Like a regular library, the Human Library has a catalog of books waiting to be checked out. People who attend are considered “readers” who sit and listen to people tell their stories about their lives or experiences. Readers do not have to stay for the full duration of the event, but are welcome to “read” as many books as they can. To receive Cultural Credit, students must “read” at least 3 books.

This year’s Human Library consists of topics such as religion, foster care, dealing with mental illness and immigration. The conversation is endless, so please stop by!

This event will be held on the main floor of the duPont-Ball Library.

We hope to see you there,

MSC
