If you’re a current Stetson student and you’ve published journalism this past year, either in print or online, you can win $500 and the Davidson Award for Integrity in Journalism.
The annual Journalism program award is given to the best piece of reporting and writing that demonstrates integrity, accuracy, clarity and unselfish concern for others.
Stetson faculty, staff, and editors at The Daytona Beach News-Journal will select a winner based on which submission best exemplifies the criteria above, which were characteristic of the late Josephine Field Davidson, editor of The News-Journal. The award was established by Stetson alumni Bill and Sally Gillespie, along with donations by friends, family and colleagues of the former editor of the News-Journal. It’s presented by the Journalism program, which is part of Stetson’s Communication and Media Studies Department.
- Choose up to three pieces of your best news, editorial, sports, or feature writing published during the past year, between April 1, 2016 and March 15, 2017.
- Submit entries and your information via this form
- Deadline: March 24, 2017, at noon. (Entries that don’t meet the deadline or other requirements will be discarded.)
