Writing Poetry: Short Poems

This is an immersive workshop where students will explore and write shorter poetry, such as haiku, sonnets, and Instapoetry. The instructor will work closely (socially distant) with each student and offer instruction on writing and revising new work. This is a generative workshop. October 17th, 9:30 -12:30.

This is an immersive workshop where students will explore and write longer poetry, such as narrative, lyric, and extended metaphor. The instructor will work closely (socially distant) with each student and offer instruction on writing and revising new work. This is a generative workshop. November 8th, 9:30 -12:30.

About the Instructor 

Michele Parker Randall has a background in Creative Writing & Interdisciplinary Studies, but her main focus and scholarship is in Poetry. She is the author of Museum of Everyday Life (Kelsay Books 2015) and A Future Unmappable, chapbook, (Finishing Line Press 2021) and her work has been published nationally and internationally. Outside of Stetson she helps run a community writing group in the city of Sanford, has taught poetry for a NAMI peer group, and is certified in mental health first aid for youth.
