Director of University Events
As Director of University Events, Julie is responsible for the direction, production and management of events and day-to-day operations of the events team. In working with the offices of the President, Board of Trustees, Enrollment, Development, Athletics and Marketing, she is charged with bringing strategic guidance and advancement of the university mission. Julie’s marketing and event production background allows for distinct branding and creative direction for the university's events, programs and productions, taking events to the next level.
Prior to joining Stetson, Julie produced events working at Warner Bros. Studios, Easter Seals of Central Florida and the American Heart Association. She has broad experience in event planning and production, ranging from small, high-end gatherings to large-scale productions and non-profit fundraisers. She enjoys pushing the envelope, transforming spaces with out-of-the-box ideas, and tackling challenges. Away from the office, Julie enjoys spending time with her family, the beach and photography. “Life is not about weathering the storm, it’s about learning to dance in the rain.”
Assistant Director of University Events
With ten years of event planning and management experience, Samantha uses her trademark skills of problem solving, creativity, and flexibility to help clients produce corporate events, meetings, and weddings. Specializing in customer service that nurtures positive, productive relationships with clients, suppliers, and her internal team allows her to advance her clients’ mission by making the most of their events experiences.
Samantha received her degree in Communication from the University of South Florida in Tampa, FL. During her time as a student, she became immersed in the event planning industry through her student employment in the campus housing department. Before joining the University Events team, Samantha worked as a Culinary teacher at her alma matter high school in Daytona Beach, FL.
Outside of her love for events, Samantha is an active member in her community, playing a role in her local Junior League chapter, which focuses on assisting women and children in need. She enjoys networking through her local Young Professionals groups – always ready to make new connections. In her personal time, she loves all things food and cooking related, and spending time with her husband, daughter and two French bull-dogs.
It’s not surprising that Samantha was drawn to event planning with her entertaining nature. Her favorite quote provides some insight into her style of event execution:
