Code of Conduct for I.T. Student Employees

The Office of Information Technology (I.T.) employs students to assist in the computer labs with training and hardware support. I.T. employs students through financial aid and regular student employment.

Employment as a student is a great opportunity to gain real-world experience and skills. As such, student workers are expected to be presentable and professional when performing their duties. Student employees have typically taken several computer science or information systems courses, or have substantial experience in Microsoft Windows, Unix or Apple OS X systems and applications.

  • Student computer lab assistants and student computer lab supervisors are responsible for computer lab operation and user assistance.
  • Student computer lab assistants may assist with maintenance and configuration of all lab computers and peripherals.
  • Technical ResNet Assistants (T.R.A.'s) work with Residential Networking Support Services (ResNet) to support network connectivity in the residential halls and Greek housing. T.R.A.'s help configure and troubleshoot students' computers on the phone, in the ResNet office and in the field.
