Code of Conduct for ResNet

  • The university's network is a shared resource. In order to maintain the stability, viability and security of the network and its related resources, students are expected to take reasonable measures to prevent their computers and use of their computers from interfering with the use of this shared resource.
  • Students will not set up servers on any computer. This includes, but is not limited to, the following servers: web, FTP, games and IRC.
  • Students will not attach computers to the university's network for illegal activities or profit-seeking business purposes.

Violations

The following disciplinary actions may be taken against violators:

  • Temporary suspension of computing privileges and violation documented in student's/employee's record.
  • Permanent removal of computing privileges and violation documented in student's/employee's record.
  • Academic probation with the forfeiting of privileges as stated in the Code of Community Standards.
  • Academic suspension which includes the termination of enrollment for a specified period of time as stated in the Code of Community Standards.
  • Academic expulsion which includes the termination of enrollment for an indefinite period of time as stated in the Code of Community Standards.
