Associate Vice President for Development and Alumni Engagement
Paul started with Stetson in January 2004 and oversees the operational functions for Development. This includes processing all charitable gifts in compliance with IRS guidelines, managing alumni- and donor records, serving as a liaison with the Finance office, and handling technological needs for the division, such as reporting, business process engineering and predictive analytics.
Before coming to Stetson, Paul served in various consulting and information technology roles that included work with many Fortune 500 corporations. Paul is a Stetson alumnus, having received his Bachelors of Business Administration in 1997 and an M.B.A. in 2004. Paul also received his Ph.D., specializing in public affairs, from the University of Central Florida in 2011, where his dissertation work focused on the efficacy of single-sex education in public schools.
Paul was born in DeLand to two Stetson alumni, Paul Gleason and Johnnie Blackwelder. He resides in DeLand with his wife, Heather, and their two children, Keegan and Kailee.
In July 2016, Andrew joined the Development Operations department as a data analyst. He maintains the functionality and integrity of the donor data and is responsible for the reporting needs of the department. Andrew first came to Stetson University in November 2013 and worked in the financial aid and enrollment area.
Prior to Stetson, Andrew worked for the University of Central Florida Foundation managing the donor database and for the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office, where he was tasked with searching for patterns and trends in criminal activity in the Duval County area. Andrew has a B.A in Russian Language and Political Science from Florida State University and an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Connecticut. Andrew has been married to Desiree since 2010, and they have two sons, James and Jacob.
Associate Director for Development Operations
Jan has worked at Stetson since 1998 and keeps the data current in constituent records. This includes collaborating with the Information Technology team on data issues, entering and correcting daily information updates, new parent and new graduate roll-over procedures, mailing address verification through an NCOA process, and assisting with preparation of the VSE/CAE industry report.
Senior Gift Accountant
Sandy has been with Stetson for 27 years in Development Operations and is responsible for charitable gift accounting. Sandy brings to Stetson 10 years of banking experience. She is a DeLand native, and her husband, Alan, is a Stetson graduate. Together they volunteer at various organizations and events such as Cracker Day for the Volusia County Cattlemen’s Association and as founding members of the Central Florida Hunting Retriever Club.
