Level Up: Competencies
The professional and career readiness of college graduates is an important issue in higher education, in the labor market and in the public arena. Yet, up until now, "professional and career readiness" has been undefined, making it difficult for leaders in higher education, workforce development and public policy to work together effectively to ensure the career readiness of today's graduates. Professional and Career Readiness is the attainment and demonstration of requisite competencies that broadly prepare college graduates for a successful transition into the workplace.
In 2017, Stetson University adopted the National Association of Colleges and Employers Career Readiness Competencies to fit our unique student culture.
Below are competency resources that Stetson faculty and staff are encouraged to use in programs, courses, and individual meetings to help students connect curricular and co-curricular learning with skills and behaviors desired by employers.
