Stetson Culture

Stetson University is home to eighteen graduate programs across its two campuses and two satellite centers. Over the last ten years, over 8,000 students have chosen Stetson University to advance their careers and enrich their lives. Whether your focus is business, counseling, education, English or law, Stetson University has a program for you. Given that most of our graduate students are actively pursuing their careers while completing their academic programs, our graduate programs are built to offer flexibility- you can take your classes online, part-time, full-time or at night after work.

Founded in 1883, Stetson University provides a transformative educational experience in the liberal arts tradition. Our campuses and satellite centers are situated along the Interstate 4 corridor and stretch from St. Petersburg to DeLand. Stetson University is home to many Florida firsts- the university was Florida's first private university, our law school was not only the first in Florida but was also the first to admit women, and our business school at the DeLand campus was the first building in Florida to be certified as a green building by the U.S. Green Building Council under its Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (L.E.E.D.) rating system.

But Stetson University is about more than its firsts. We were founded on three core values: intellectual development, personal growth and global citizenship. Our academic programs, our faculty, our staff and our students reflect, engender and nurture these values every day. Our small interactive classes, close student-faculty alliances and collaborative approach to learning provides the foundation for rewarding careers.

Completing a graduate program is a huge investment of money and time. You should be more than a number. You should be able to speak with your professor any time. You should make lifelong friendships with your classmates. You should graduate ready to take the next step in your career. At Stetson University our goal is to help you take that next step toward significance.

Where you attend classes will help to determine exactly what your housing options are. However, whether you attend classes in DeLand or Gulfport, you'll have many housing options:

For DeLand students, Stetson Cove is an apartment complex owned by the university. Its on-campus amenities, such as newly renovated laundry facilities, cable, Internet access and a courtyard, combined with an off-campus feel and the same security offered to on-campus residential students, come together for a unique offering for students seeking a more independent adult living environment.
