RISU, 14 March 2022

On 14 March, Archpriest Vasily Gumarov, of the Sevastopol deanery of the UPTsMP [Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate], who also is the "assistant" to the head of the Department for Work with Believing Service Personnel of the military-political department of the occupying Black Sea Fleet of the Russian Federation, conducted a scheduled conversation with service personnel on the topic "Blessed are the peacemakers." This was reported by "Enslaved Crimea."

The report noted that the military clergy of the Sevastopol deanery of the UPTsMP, which has cooperated closely with the military and political leadership of the aggressor state throughout the time of the Russian occupation of Crimea, has continually conducted meetings with Russian troops from the start of the large-scale invasion by the Russian Federation into the territory of Ukraine, "strengthening their fighting spirit and supporting proper motivation."

It has been learned that on 20 February on Cape Crystal, this priest blessed service personnel of the armed forces of the Russian Federation for "defense of the motherland." This is reported on the website of the Sevastopol deanery of the Moscow patriarchate.

"The assistant of the charitable Sevastopol church district for work with believing service personnel, Archpriest Vasily Gumarov, participated in the rally. The priest addressed the service personnel with a welcoming speech and blessed the troops for good and honorable service to the motherland," the report says.

This same Archpriest Gumarov also visited the training grounds created by the occupiers of Crimea and led a prayer service for "multiplication of the love between the fraternal Ukrainian and Russian peoples." This also was reported on the website of the Sevastopol deanery of the UPTsMP. (tr. by PDS, posted 14 March 2022)
