P.Ts.U.: KILLING RUSSIAN OCCUPIERS IS NO SIN
by Anastasia Kalatur
Ukrainskaya Pravda, 15 March 2022
The Orthodox Church of Ukraine [PTsU] does not consider it sin to wish the death of the enemy and to kill the Russian occupiers.
The primate of the PTsU, Metropolitan Epifany, said this on a broadcast of a telethon and was quoted by Zerkalo Nedeli.
"We as a nation do not strive for the death of those who are our neighbors. But insofar as they have come into our home, we are defending our family, our motherland, and our land. Our troops are protecting all Ukrainians.
"To defend and to kill the enemy is not a sin. We are defending and we are not seeking to gain what is not ours. And the one who has come to our home with a sword will also die by that sword." (tr. by PDS, posted 15 March 2022)
