The
Lenin district court of Voronezh changed the measure of
restriction of ten
adherents of Jehovah's Witnesses (an organization forbidden in
the R.F.), imposing
on them a ban on certain activities, Interfax was told at the
court.
"The
court declined the petition of the investigator for extending
the detention in
custody for six Jehovah's Witnesses and also for another four
who are under
house arrest. For all of them, the measure of restriction
selected was a ban on
certain activities," a source told the news agency.
At the
present time, all who had been held in a SIZO on this case have
been released.
As was
reported, in mid-July the Lenin district court of Voronezh
placed in custody
ten previously detained adherents of the Jehovah's Witnesses
organization,
which is forbidden in Russia, who were suspected of extremism.
Later four of
them were placed under house arrest. (tr. by PDS, posted 3
