My intrepid partner, Erich, vowed to skydive on his 40th birthday, and darned if he didn't follow through. I decided to go with him, as did two other crazy friends. So here are the pictures to prove that I did it, and here is the web page to prove that I lived through it. I may never jump out of an airplane again, but it was great fun.

Skydive DeLand made us all feel welcome. That's the check-in desk on the left, and those yellow forms tell us how dangerous skydiving is. If we get hurt, we can't sue. And if we do sue and win damages, we have to pay them. However, skydiving is relatively safe, especially the tandem jumps that we did. There is only an average of 1 fatality per 70,000 jumps by experienced skydivers doing single jumps, and only 1 fatality in 420,000 tandem jumps.
