The final exam is Friday 12/8, 9-11 am in the lab. It is cumulative, covering chapters 5 – 8.
The exam contains 260 points and is worth 26% of your grade. There is a variety of problems: set up and evaluate formulas, set up only, exact and approximate answers, error analysis, concepts.
You may use calculators or Mathematica on some problems. Others ask you to show your work done by hand. All answers should be either exact answers or numerical answers accurate to 4 decimal places.
Even when you are asked to do a problem by hand, you can use a calculator or Mathematica to check your answer. It would be helpful to know some simple Mathematica code: for example, Integrate, NIntegrate, and other commands you have encountered in the labs. As with all tests, you must show some work or reasoning to obtain full credit for a problem. Answers alone will not suffice.
It would be prudent to know the Fundamental Theorem Of Calculus (p. 381 of your text).
