Non-Traditional Stetson University Student Launches Web Site on Native Heritage
DeLand, Fla. -- A Stetson University non-traditional student majoring in Russian Studies has created a new World Wide Web site containing information about the White Earth Anishinaabe (Chippewa Indian) reservation, as well as resources for Russian and Womens studies.
Judy Chmura, who works full time in Stetsons Public Relations Department while pursuing her bachelors degree, said the site is a guide to information about her Native American heritage and her professional and personal interests, which include Russian and Womens studies.
"Judy's site is one of the more interesting individual sites I've seen," said Brian G. Miller, Stetsons executive director of marketing and communications. "It has a good blend of both personal and professional information. In just five minutes on her web site I learned things about her background, experience and interests that haven't come up in seven months of working together."
