Stetson Commencement 2016 Updates

Stetson’s graduating seniors and their guests are invited to enjoy a buffet lunch reception within their respective academic division, college or school, following the morning’s commencement ceremony, Sat., May 7.

Stetson’s Commencement Ceremony will begin at 8:30 a.m., at Spec Martin Memorial Stadium, 260 E. Euclid Ave., in DeLand, just blocks from campus.

A total of five receptions, which will include a buffet lunch for graduates and their guests, as well as diploma pick-up and an opportunity to recycle their regalia, are scheduled for 12 p.m. through 2:30 p.m. on Stetson’s campus.

Within the College of Arts and Sciences, the largest of Stetson’s four colleges and schools, there will be three divisional receptions:

  • Arts & Humanities – in the Stetson Room, located on the second floor of the Carlton Union Building
  • Natural & Social Sciences – in the Edmunds Center
  • Education & Counselor Education – in the duPont-Ball Library

The reception for the School of Music will be held in Presser Hall, 132. And, the reception for the School of Business Administration will be held in the Rinker Fieldhouse in the Hollis Center.

Parking locations for each reception will be designated on the Commencement 2016 website, along with an online campus map indicating the location of each parking area.

For those completing their graduate degrees, there will be a Hooding Ceremony Fri., May 6, at 7 p.m., in Lee Chapel inside Elizabeth Hall.

As previously reported, the other major end-of-the-year events scheduled for Fri., May 6, include the ROTC Commissioning Ceremony, 10-11 a.m., in Lee Chapel, and the Awards and Recognition Ceremony at 3 p.m., also in Lee Chapel.
